This gripping narrative follows a suicidal lady who is saved by a stranger, but quickly becomes obsessive and forces the man to abandon her in her confused and unsafe mental state. Frustrated and full of anguish, the lady runs back to the very same building to fulfill her earlier wish, before we see her intentionally drop her shoe in front of another man, revealing to the viewer her malicious deception to find herself a partner.
Since house concerts are, well, in houses, the expectations set at these events are inherently quite different from those at traditional venues. While the practice of audience members getting shmammered at venue shows has become accepted and even expected, the rules are different at house concerts. These concerts are more intimate, more focused on the music — they’re likely to be quieter and the connections between the artist and audience are therefore stronger. House concerts typically won’t feature a loud, drunk, and rowdy crowd, and you won’t need to unstick your shoes from any PBR-soaked floors, either.
While effects can certainly be used in serial, you’ll have more control over the sound by creating aux channels for each individual effect. This way, you can slowly bring up the effects until they sit just behind the vocal. Just be careful — you don’t want the effect to overpower the vocal. Try turning the effects up so you can just barely hear them behind the original vocal — so that if you were to mute the effects, you would just barely notice something is missing.

The bass blends well in this mix and grooves solidly throughout the whole song. But one recurring motif that sticks out, perhaps because of the space created by the choppy, Kinks-esque guitar riff, is the simple walk-up to the fifth (an E over the A chord) via the major third and perfect fourth. It happens after the first four chords (which, on their own, actually sound like a rewrite of “You Really Got Me”), and tucks nicely into place as the short D and A guitar chords follow it and carry the end of the measure into the G and C chords of bars 3 and 4. The pattern is repeated over these bars, and basically everywhere else in the song involving the main guitar riff, though East varies it almost every single time with masterful subtlety.

A composer and pianist, Mazzoli not only writes ground-breaking operas, orchestral works, and chamber music, but is the founder and keyboardist for the all-female band Victoire. Selflessly spreading her knowledge and original musical insight, Mazzoli is now a member of the Composition faculty at Mannes School of Music at The New School.
